Emmanuel Sanchez is a survivor of the last cohort in his field of study from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Art with an emphasis in painting in 2008 before completing a Master of Science in Studio Art in 2011. Since that time, he has wrestled with his purpose and the meaning of existence until his current understanding of life led him to the realization that living is a tangible basis of creation. His current compositions explore the juxtaposition of seemingly art-less objects arranged and presented in aesthetic harmony.
At the moment of initial exposure, the Artist’s intention is to present viewers with varying compositions meant to be decoded by their own personal life experiences. In this manner, meaning will constantly change along with viewers as they navigate their own lives upon subsequent exposures.
Inspired by the likes of Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, and Paul Chan, the Artist embraces contemporary approaches along with those of his predecessors. His artist statement is best summed up by the song Imaginary Love by Rufus Wainwright… but just for now.
